Maze Cave 2 is the first side level of the Mushroom Kingdom, accessed from World 4. Just another puzzle stage, this time set in a cave.

Level overview[]

Begin the stage by dropping down, and heading to the pipe on the right. Dodge the Spinies, break the blocks and head to the pipe on the right. Ignore the On-Off switch, grab the springboard and head to the pipe on the lower left.

In the other side, evade the Spinies' attacks and use the spring board to reach a pipe and an On-Off switch. Turn it off and go in the pipe. Break the blocks above the springboard, then go above them, then right to release a vine from a block.

Use the vine to climb up and reach a pipe in the upper right. Inside this room, you'll find a P-Switch. Grab it, then go back in the pipe to exit the room. Go back in the room again and you'll find that the P-Switch is back.

Hit one of the P-Switches and head right. A wall of blocks will keep you from proceeding any further. Wait until the P-Switch runs out, collect the coins making up the block wall, then hit the other P-Switch. An On-Off switch is on the other side.

Turn it on, then go back in the left pipe. Go back in the pipe for the last time to grab another P-Switch, then go back out. Drop down and use the pipe to turn the blocks into coins. The one block that didn't turn into a coin has a vine inside, hit it.

The vine will grow and eat part of the rope concealing the Goal Orb at the top. Climb the vine to collect it.
