Four-Color Fort (4 しょくのとりで 4 Shoku no Toride) is the eighth level and only fortress of World 7.

The Level[]

The level is based on the Switch Palace colors - blue, red, green and yellow. The first part of the level is a breeze if you have all four of the switches pressed.

After fighting Lightgazer, the player is sent to a room with four different challenges. Once you complete all the challenges, the door to the boss, Zable Fahr, will reveal itself.

Blue door[]

The first one is a flow line puzzle, in which the player needs to bring the four different shells to their corresponding colour.

Order of the shells: first green, then yellow, then red and finally blue.

Green door[]

The second one is a rhythm puzzle taken from Donkey Kong Country 3, in which the player presses buttons corresponding to the song the stones are playing. Each crystal is arranged and colored as the A, B, X, and Y buttons.

Here are the combinations:

  1. XXXYXAB
  2. AYBYXXY
  3. BYXAXAYBYB

Yellow door[]

The third one is room with a bunch of colored switch blocks. Depending what switches you press will change the background's color, and will determine what colored wall is intangible.

Red door[]

The fourth one has what appear to be four different Baby Yoshis, which are actually disguised items. You must use them to get to the door. The yellow Yoshi is a Cheep-Cheep, the blue one is a P-switch, the green one is a Koopa shell, and the red one is a key.

Trivia[]

  • In older versions, the shell-trail puzzle was different. The shell colours were two yellow shells on the left and two blue shells on the right.
  • On the Yoshi-puzzle room, the texture of the silver P-Switch is changed and corresponds to an unused grey Yoshi. It doesn't appear in the level, but it can be seen in Lunar Magic.

Music[]

"On With The Vanguard! (Pt2)" from Romancing SaGa 3 and "Decision Bell" from Seiken Densetsu 3 play in this level.
